Farewell Meria

Mission:
If You Like Pina Coladas
Location: Bridge
Abigail sat on the bridge in one of the two center chairs, Ichiko in the other. Their time on Meria had drawn to a close, the crew had been recalled to the ship and they had received orders to proceed to Starbase 412.
"Commander, have all the crew reported back onboard?" she asked quietly.
"All hands present and accounted for. We have the official tally from each department." Ichiko responded with a nod.
"Notify all departments that we will be departing within five minutes." Abigail spoke again.
"Yes ma'am." and a quick comm out from the XO. "All departments, this is Ichiko Gail. Departure in five minutes. Repeat, departure in five minutes."
Buck sat at his station, head lowered slightly, checking his the instrument data for the umpteenth time. His fingers flexed over the controls.
"Lieutenant Rogers, is our Star Maiden ready for her voyage?" Abigail asked, unable to help the smile that formed despite her clear exhaustion.
"Looking forward to stretching her legs, Ma'am." Buck replied, turning slightly to face the captain. "All she needs is a destination."
"Very well, as soon as all departments report as ready, take us out Lieutenant Rogers. Set in a course for Starbase 412. We can go to warp as soon as we've cleared the planet." Abigail leaned back in her seat and sighed softly as she waited.
"Copy that. Starbase 412." Buck replied.
"What's our ETA for 412 Lieutenant?" Abigail asked as she watched the view screen with anticipation, waiting for the movement she knew was coming at any moment.
"About two weeks, Ma'am." Buck relayed, starting to take the Astrea out of orbit. "Assuming we stick to the speed limit."
"Alright, we have some time up our sleeves, we may as well make the most of it. Commander Gail, can you arrange for a message to be sent to Meria's governing body extending our sincerest thanks for their hospitality while we were on leave.
Then, let's get Operations overseeing some full systems diagnostics, have Lieutenant Gunning work with Lieutenants Rue and Matashi to make sure we have full systems integrity," Abigail gave the order, steepling her fingers beneath her chin as she closed her eyes for a moment, trying to ignore the throbbing headache in the base of her skull.
Ichiko gave a ghost of a smile, "Drafting up political pleasantries. I think that was a primary school elective." The rabbitess joked, but she nonetheless gave a nod, "I'll have it to you for final approval by lunchtime. In the meantime I'll coordinate with operations personally. They have a project of mine that I need to see the status of."
"Excellent. Lieutenant Rogers, how's helm feeling? If you have no issues, perhaps get a message to Lieutenant Matashi and see if she can delegate one of her officers to run some weapons testing, just to make sure our weapons are up to scratch?" Abigail suggested.
"Helm is good Ma'am." Buck said his eyes flitting between the viewscreen and his instruments. "I'll get the message along right away."
Standing up, Abigail nodded slightly as she tugged down her jacket. "Very well, Commander Gail, you have the bridge, I'll be in my ready room."
