Mission: If You Like Pina Coladas

Pushing her way through the doors between the lounge and the kitchen, there was no sense of propriety at all in the way Ashe moved. Hands full of drinks, a PaDD tucked under her chin and the door being shoved open with a foot, her gaze fell on the resident Klingon and she grinned. "Gooooooood Morning!" she called cheerfully as she set his drink on the bench next to where he was working before she moved to the stool she had long since claimed as her own.

"So, I was looking at what's on the planet," she said with a grin, dropping the PaDD onto the bench between them. "There is an entire landmass on the planet that seems to be dedicated to food and drink, I mean on a production scale. You can do tours of the farms and the vineyards and see the production plants, and of course sample all the wares, you up for a weekend off?" She asked with a grin as she finally stopped and took a sip of her drink, raising one eyebrow slightly as she watched him.

The Klingon chef looked up at the far-too-happy Ashe. He grunted non-committally. He didn't respond immediately but watched the pan he was stirring like it was a live snake. After a few minutes, he took it off the hob, poured the contents into a bowl, adding a few cheese-topped crouton. "Try that," he said. It wasn't a request. If she was going to come in here, all happy and 'morning-person-y', he was going to make her pay for it. "A twist on Onion Soup."

Ashe nabbed a crouton first, crunching on it as she picked up her spoon and dipped it into the soup, blowing gently across it before tasting tentatively. "It's good," she said, a tone of surprise in her voice. "I'm not normally a fan of onion soup, I find it too bitter and oniony. What did you do to it?"

"I added Pazafer to it to give a hint of otherworldly spice," Kaarg said. "You think other's will like the Klingon version of the Earth dish? I tried to keep it as close to an original recipe as I could but experiment with other herbs and spices; some of which I wouldn't have fed to a targ and I safely disposed of." Finally, Kaarg looked up. "When do we leave? You appear to have this all planned out? Am I allowed my acoutrements?" He said, motioning to his armour and weapons.

"Well, I was thinking we could go down tomorrow mid morning?" She used her free hand to thumb into the PaDD, turning it to face him. "There's a local cuisine tasting that starts just before lunch here," she brought up an info brief on a small boutique eatery that proclaimed that they only used ingredients that they themselves grew. "The offerings look tasty, and if we hang around, they offer the chance to peek at their distillery afterward and then it goes onto a wine and liquor tasting in the afternoon and evening. What do you think?"

Kaargs eyes lit up. "Distillery, you say?" He grinned, "what's the catch?"

Ashe shook her head slightly. "No catch, it's a touristy thing. I think it's kind of along the lines of they give you little tastes of the good stuff, then try and get you liquored up and convince you to buy their products," she said with a laugh. "But it still sounds like fun."

"Indeed it does." He picked up a PADD, making some notes on it. "What time do you want to leave? And won't your Spook miss you?" He said, teasingly. "Or is he coming too?"

"Let him?" Ashe replied with a shrug. "Besides, I need a good girls weekend," she shot back quickly with a grin.

"Am I missing something? I thought the human ritual of 'a girl's weekend' was partying, drinking with other females and possibly praying to the porcelain deity the next day? I'm either missing something, or you're implying something about me personally that I'm not sure I should be offended about?" He shot her a vicious grin.

Ashe raised one eyebrow questioningly. "And if I am, what are you gonna do about it," she replied with a teasing grin. "Come on, I need a break the bar has been far too quiet with the crew on leave and I need to find some excitement. before I go crazy!"

Kaarg laughed, "alright, alright; You win. Honestly, I'm looking forward to this. Food and drink have become passions of mine over the years. This will be interesting and fun."

"Great," Ashe finished the soup he had given her and leaned back on her stool. "So, meet me in the transporter room at 10am?"

Kaarg nodded, "Will do. Bring your drinking liver," he said, only half joking.

Ashe laughed as she slid off the stool, taking a step toward the door she had come through earlier. "Oh, challenge more than accepted!"
