| Personal History | Born the youngest of 3 William, Will to his friends, had things pretty nice growing up. The stereotypical roles were reversed however when the Cole kids reached high school with Will defending his older siblings from the ones that would pick on them. An average student and athlete by the time of his senior year he had no idea where he wanted to go in life. It wasn't until on of his close friends, who also happened to be his high school crush, talked him into going to the academy. At the Academy, Will was drawn to the Tactical field. Between his time spent with friends and chasing girls rather than studying his grades started to slip. A professor noticed the downward trends and somehow managed to coach him back into line just in time to graduate. Once in the Fleet Will began to show his aptitude for his job. His first assignment onboard the USS Nagasaki was uneventful and Will began to think his career was not going to go anywhere. Again getting noticed by someone who genuinely cared, his department head took him under her wing, showing him the real importance of a tactical officer, even on boring assignments. By the time Will had transferred from the Nagasaki he had learned more than he ever though he would at the Academy. His next assignment onboard the USS Wellington was much more eventful as the Wellington was assigned to peace keeping operations out on the frontier worlds. Everything Will had learned from his time on the Nagasaki was finally being put to the test and was staring to make sense. Will eventually transferred from the Wellington and was grateful for the skills he had learned there. Will's posting on the Hawkings was his first post as a department head and he slipped into the job naturally. Being a research vessel, the Hawkings did not see much action, but when it did Will always managed to prove himself dependable to stay calm in the situation. Will's most recent posting to the USS Kaiser was where his reputation as being someone who always gets the job done was forged. Sent on several assignments to apprehend criminals, escort duty, or shows of force missions Will always get the job done with the best results possible. |
