Her hair is generally worn loose, however she pulls it into a relaxed bun when the situation dictates more formality. Her uniform is worn with ease and little regard for regulations, and emphasis on her own comfort. She often opts for civilian clothing on days when her duties are only sessions with her patients. |

| General Overview | Veznia is a bit jaded about her Denobulan heritage. After so much exposure and interaction with with Human's, she finds her peoples polyamorous ways in particular unnecessary. Vez is known to have a good sense of humour, sometimes bordering on vulgar. She always finds it in herself to at least attempt to make light of serious situations, to defuse tension and put those around her at ease. She is considered strong willed and steady in her convictions. She will fight againt that which she believes is wrong and to uphold what she believes in. |

| Personal History | Born in the Kaybin District on Denobula's only continent to Yolan and Kesslia, Veznia is their third born child, and the ninth in her extended family. She was raised under the tutledge of several familial relations before she was old enough to attend school Growing up, Veznia found herself fighting for the attention of her father and her mother, who had their hands full with the countless children between their various relationships. To help herself through the feelings of rejection and loneliness, Vez used humour. It wasn't long before she realized, she enjoyed making other people laugh, even at her own expense. Towards the end of her teen years, Veznia began to discover that she enjoyed helping people. It was then she decided to pursue medicine. She was accepted to the Jaryed University, Medical program with a focus on mental health, and studied for five and a half years. Upon her graduation she took her residency at the University Hospital, where she served for two and a half years. Under the wing of Doctor Phalo, the university’s leading Counsellor and former Starfleet officer. The pair formed a sort of mentor-mentee relationship. After a handful of years working closely with Doctor Phalo Veznia decided to apply to Starfleet with her mentor’s recommendation, and travelled from her home planet to the Sol system to work with her people's new allies. She took a job at a civilian hospital in New York City while she waited to hear back from Starfleet. There she adapted to life with Human's and learned all about their unique medical practices. After what felt like an obnoxiously long waiting period, Veznia was informed that her application was accepted.bAs she already had her Medical Schooling under her belt, Veznia was put through the Direct Officer Candidate School to teach her the ins and outs of Starfleet, as well as several courses to help her acclimatize to shipboard life. Her first assignment following her training was aboard the USS Washington. for a duration of three years she served as a counselor while the ship explored the far south of Alpha Quadrant. She found her time there uneventful, but admittedly uneventful helped her to bond with her comrades and learn about life on a Starfleet vessel firsthand. When Washington was recalled to Earth for refit and resupply , Veznia was reassigned as a counsellor aboard the the USS Eagle. Eagle was slated to patrol the Tzenkethi border, as task that was seen as important and worthy of a full counselling compliment to deal with the stresses of deep space assignment. On Eagle, Veznia developed a close relationship with brother her Chief Counsellor and Chief Medical Officer, a Caitian man and a Bolian woman respectively. The trio shared a love of singing and often found themselves the only ones performing at the Ship’s karaoke night. All good things come to an end. Without much warning Veznia was reassigned to Deep Space K-17, a dilapidated K Class station on the Tzenkethi border. The new posting came with a bump in rank and a new position for Veznia. As Chief Counsellor on the deteriorating station, Vez found herself working overtime. She was the only Counsellor aboard a station that seemed to, by its very nature, force service members to be alone with their mental health issues. For two very long years Veznia served on K-17, until Starfleet announced that the lack of activity on the border made K-17 surplus to requirements and it would be dismantled for parts. Once again, Veznia was reassigned to the USS Pioneer as Chief Counsellor. This posting was very short lived as the Intrepid Class ship experienced a massive engineering failure and the ship was evacuated leaving the crew to be rescued and subsequently reassigned once more. After a few weeks of waiting, Veznia was selected to work with the Spirit Class development project’s medical team. The development project was working on a Quantum Slipstream Drive. The team Veznia worked on was charged with monitoring the physical and mental well-being of the crew after test flights. Veznia found this post to be particularly difficult as many of her team members were unfriendly, wanting little to do with one another after duty hours. It was a relief when the development project ended trials and Veznia was reassigned to a real starship once again. USS Toronto was a lively setting for Vez, as the Sovereign class ship hosted cadet cruises. Vez loved imparting her acquired knowledge on the counselling cadets she was charged with overseeing. The high turnover in operational personnel meant Veznia got to meet new people all the time. Including one Lieutenant Sheila Halsted with whom Veznia shared an intimate relationship. It was a fleeting one but it fulfilled something in Veznia and showed her that she was capable of being loved. Though the two parted way when Halsted was reassigned Vez remembered her and their closeness fondly. After five years aboard Toronto, Veznia was all set to ship out on yet another cruise when she was contacted by the Department of Personnel. It seemed the Counsellor assigned to the USS Versailles had taken ill prior to their launch and they were in need of a seasoned Counsellor as they shipped out to the Former Romulan Neutral Zone to survey the destruction. Though she was sad to leave Toronto, she also took pride in going where she was needed. Versailles was new experience for Veznia, and her seasoned hand was much appreciated by her staff who were mostly new graduates and looked to her for support and guidance in their work. It was truly gratifying. They became a tight knit group. The same could be said if the entire ship’s company.Everyone supported everyone, and it was like a family. News that Versailles was being recalled for decommissioning was a sad day on the aged Excelsior Class ship. It was with sadness in her heart that Veznia accepted a transfer to the USS Astraea, an Odyssey class ship. |
